Volunteers are crucial to the success of our projects in Ghana, helping support education programs, community initiatives, and partnerships with local schools and healthcare professionals.
Volunteers play an important role in supporting the work of the Ghana Medical Foundation. Each year, small teams travel to Ghana to assist with program implementation, community projects, and partnership development with local schools and healthcare professionals.
Participation in these trips is volunteer-based. Individuals who wish to travel with the team are responsible for raising the funds needed to cover their own travel and trip expenses. This includes airfare, housing, meals, and other travel costs.
Fundraising can be done through personal fundraising efforts, community support, or partnerships with family and friends. Our team will provide guidance and tools to help volunteers organize and manage their fundraising if needed.
The main role of volunteers when traveling to Ghana is to assist with school improvment projects
Supporting our main kickoff health education clinic
Helping distribute learning materials
Assisting with school improvement projects (these projects will be indentified on our site visit in April 2026)
Helping collect program data and feedback
Meeting with community leaders and local healthcare professionals
Supporting logistics and coordination for program activities
Our work focuses on education and community support, not clinical care.
