The Ghana Medical Foundation works
"baako-baako",
which means one-by-one. Supporting our staff one-by-one means contributing to their quality of life as they fulfill the mission of the Ghana Medical Foundation

About Alex
Alex currently serves as the Local Assistant Director of the Ghana Medical Foundation, where he supports “program development, community outreach, partnership building, and initiatives designed to create lasting social impact.”
Alongside his work with GMF, Alex is pursuing “a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Business Management through BYU-Pathway.” Through his studies in “leadership, project management, operations, quality improvement, and organizational development,” Alex says he is gaining “the skills and knowledge necessary to lead impactful initiatives and create sustainable solutions for communities in need.”
Why He Chose GMF
“I chose to work with the Ghana Medical Foundation because I have a deep passion for serving the community where I was raised,” Alex says.
He has seen that “many communities in Ghana remain under-resourced and lack adequate access to quality healthcare and educational opportunities.” For Alex, those challenges matter because they “often limit the potential of young people and contribute to cycles of poverty and hardship.”
Through GMF, Alex has the opportunity to “contribute to meaningful interventions that improve access to healthcare, support educational advancement, and empower underserved individuals and families.”
His Goal in Life
“My goal in life is to become a solution designer,” Alex says, “someone who identifies challenges within communities and develops innovative, sustainable solutions that improve people’s lives.”
He hopes to use his “education, leadership experience, and passion for service” to address issues related to “healthcare, education, and economic opportunity.” In the future, Alex hopes “to establish initiatives and organizations that empower individuals, strengthen communities, and create opportunities for lasting growth and development.”
Ultimately, Alex says, “I want my work to leave a positive legacy by helping people overcome barriers and reach their full potential.”
All staff sponsorship funds are distributed and tracked through the Ghana Medical Foundation according to approved staff roles and financial reporting procedures.
