The Ghana Medical Foundation works
"baako-baako",
which means one-by-one. Supporting our staff one-by-one means contributing to their quality of life as they fulfill the mission of the Ghana Medical Foundation

About Eric
Eric Bankz has been with the Ghana Medical Foundation since October 2025 and began serving as GMF’s Local Director in April 2026. Because of his strong work ethic, steady leadership, and deep commitment to the mission of the Ghana Medical Foundation, Eric was invited to serve on GMF’s Board in June 2026. His contributions to the mission of the Ghana Medical Foundation have been unmatched.
Eric lives in Kasoa, located in the Central Region of Ghana, with his wife, Beatrice, and their two children, Clifford and Hazel. In addition to his role with the Ghana Medical Foundation, Eric works part-time for BYU-Pathway Worldwide, where he supports students as they continue their education.
Where He Comes From
Eric Bankz understands what it means to grow up with uncertainty. “Coming from a poor family,” he says, “I understand what it feels like to face limitations and uncertainty about the future.”
For Eric, those challenges were not just temporary obstacles. They shaped the way he saw life, education, and opportunity. He grew up knowing “the realities of hardship, limited opportunities, and the importance of hope and support.” Because of that, Eric has never forgotten what it feels like when the future seems difficult to reach.
The Opportunity That Changed His Life
For a long time, higher education did not seem possible for Eric. “Higher education once seemed impossible for me until BYU-Pathway Worldwide gave me an opportunity to learn and grow.”
That opportunity changed the direction of his life. It gave him hope, confidence, and a clearer vision for his future. Eric says, “That experience changed my life and inspired me to help build the kind of support system that gives others hope, dignity, and a chance to succeed too.”
Why He Serves
Today, Eric’s goal is “to become a leader in my country and help create a better future for people who come from backgrounds like mine and for those whose situations are even more difficult.”
His work with the Ghana Medical Foundation comes from that purpose. “I work with Ghana Medical Foundation because I want to help create meaningful change in Ghana by bringing hope, support, and opportunities to underserved communities.”
Eric believes “real change begins when people are given hope, guidance, and the chance to succeed.” His vision is to use his own experiences “to uplift others and make lasting improvements in the lives of vulnerable people across Ghana.”
