The Ghana Medical Foundation’s Medical Team helps students build the knowledge, support, and opportunities needed to improve their health and prepare for careers in healthcare.
Our Medical Team includes volunteers and professionals in Ghana and the United States who contribute their experience to student education and healthcare preparation.
Each person supports a specific part of the work while contributing to one shared objective: helping students gain the knowledge and opportunities needed to serve their communities through healthcare.
The Medical Team brings together healthcare professionals, medical students, volunteers, educators, and local partners to support students interested in healthcare careers.
The program focuses on helping students understand health, strengthen their academic preparation, receive guidance from experienced mentors, and gain meaningful exposure to healthcare environments.

Each project has assigned team members responsible for its development, coordination, and progress.
The mission of the medical team is the same of that of the Educational Program. Empower Students with Education and Opportunity that Prepares Them for Healthcare Careers. The medical team is the supporting team for the educational program.
Many students are interested in healthcare but have limited access to professional guidance, mentors, academic support, and opportunities to experience healthcare settings. The Medical Team works to close that gap by connecting students with people and resources that can help them understand what healthcare careers require and how they can begin preparing.
Medical activities require clear standards, professional review, and appropriate supervision. Dr. Richard Seglah serves as the main medical oversight for the medical team.
The Medical Team’s health content and healthcare exposure activities are reviewed by Dr. Seglah and the Medical Advisory Council before implementation. The team also considers student safety, privacy, parent or school permissions, professional conduct, and the limits of student participation.
This structure helps ensure that activities remain educational, ethical, and appropriate.
Supporting the Medical Team helps connect students with health education, mentors, academic resources, professional guidance, and meaningful healthcare experiences.
